Trolleybuses in Hradec Kralove
City-rival of Pardubice, Hradec Kralove (with distance only approx. 18 km between these two cities) was between WW1 and WW2 completely renewed, and it is until today still example of modern architecture of 30’s in Czech Republic. Also, during this period there was hope to built electric tramway, however, these plans were rejected. After WW2 started construction of trolleybus network, and in may 1949 first route between Railway station and Novy Hradec Kralove was opened. Again, during short period new routes to Slezske Predmesti, Placice and Malsovice were opened, including many innercity routes, so in 1963 there was 9 trolleybus lines with 40 vehicles. Unfortunately, in end of 60’s large amount of innercity routes were abandoned, so in 1970 only last three lines remained here.

There also were plans to close rest of lines until 1975. No new vehicles were purchased. Somewhere in 1980 new decision was taken to preserve trolleybus routes, so new vehicles of 14Tr, and later 15Tr were delivered. No new lines were built at this time, however former equipment was reneved. Construction of new lines started in early 90’s when large amount of new innercity reoutes was restored, and also second link to Novy Hradec Kralove was built. There are plans to extend more these routes, including new lines to Moravske Predmesti.

In 1997 brand new low-floor trolleybuses of 21Tr type were delivered.
