HISTORIC TRAMWAYS:

Many tramcars are preserved as a historic vehicles. Here is overview.

BRNO:

Most of tramcars is preserved in Brno's tramway museum , but one coach and one trailer is preserved by transport company itself. This is coach No. 107, built in 1943 by Kralovopolska strojirna Brno and trailer No. 215, built in 1926. These vehicles are prepared for special journeys and can be rented.

LIBEREC:

The only one historic vehicle is tramcar No. 88. It was delivered into Usti nad Labem, but soon after closure of Usti's tramways was moved to Liberec. This unique narrow-gauge vehicle is now being restored. There is hope to finish it until the celebration of 100th anniversary of Liberec tramways in August 1997

OLOMOUC:

City of Olomouc preserve one coach No. 223 (built by Ringoffer in 1930 for Praha and moved here after WW2). This car is joined with trailer No. 99, built in 1951 for Ostrava. They can run on demand through city, but it does not happened very often...

OSTRAVA:

Pretty collection is preserved by Ostrava's transport company. It contain six vehicles, one trainset from Vitkovicka zavodni draha (Nos. 94+269), tramcar No.25, used for transportation of children, trainset 50+219 built in early 50's, one of the last two-axle vehicles used in Czechoslovakia, and tramcar of T1 type no. 528, rarely displayed.

CZECH REPUBLIC - Ostrava, museum tramway T-1

PRAHA:

Most of the Praha's historic tramcars is preserved in Praha's museum of Urban Transport , but transport company has large collection of tramcars for special journeys. It contain 14 vehicles, however some of them are in restoring process now. Tramcar No. 240, built 1908 or tramway No.3062 called 'submarine' can be joined with trailers No's 1522,1530 or 1562. They can be followed with WW1 Tramcars Nos.349 and 251 or 2110, while coach 2219 and trailer 1200 are still under construction. Fleet also include relatively new tramcar No.5500, 5601 or 5602 used for sightseeing cruises.

Old tramcars are used on Saturdays and Sundays on a special sightseeing line No.91. This line runs hourly from Exhibition Place through old city back. This nice trip costs only CZK 15,- (less than USD 0,50).

PLZEN:

Two historic vehicles are preserved in Plzen, with crown jewel of Czech historic tramways, No.18 built in 1899, one of first Plzen tramways, now oldest operational tramcar of Czech Republic. Second tramcar is No.121, last tramcar of T1 class withdrawned from regular service in 1987. It is now in (outrageous) blue livery.
